KKR had bought Mustafizur Rahman in the IPL-2026 auction with a huge bid of Rs 9.2 crore. However, there is anger in the country due to incidents of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The Congress MP wrote in a post on social media platform PM Modi can meet the leader of Bangladesh but a cricketer cannot play in the Indian team.

He said, BCCI has taken a wrong step. The decision taken against Mustafizur Rahman is wrong. Who are we punishing here? To a country, to a person, to his religion? Where will this mindless politicization of sports take us?
