America controls at least 750 military bases in 80 countries around the world. These include military, navy and airbase. This figure could be even higher, because the Pentagon has not made all the data public. America has a total of 13 lakh soldiers, out of which 13% i.e. 1.72 lakh soldiers are deployed in these 80 countries. America now wants to create 4 new bases to completely control the world.

1. Bagram Air Base

Bagram Air Base is located in Parwan province of Afghanistan, which is about 40-60 km north of Kabul. This airbase was built by the Soviet Union in the 1950s. It was the main center of Soviet forces during the Soviet-Afghan War of the 1980s. After the 9/11 attacks of 2001, the American Army took control of this place. After Taliban came to power, America had to leave this base.

During the 20-year war in Afghanistan, more than 30 thousand American soldiers were deployed at this airbase. This was the headquarters of NATO forces. Bagram Air Base has two concrete runways 11,000 feet long, which can handle large cargo planes like the C-5 Galaxy and B-52 bombers. There were more than 110 aircraft shelters, fuel depots, hospitals, jails and intelligence centres.

It is one of the largest and strategically important airbases in the world. It is located between South Asia, Central Asia and West Asia, bordering Iran, Pakistan, China’s Xinjiang province and Russia. According to a report, America operates a total of 170 airbases around the world.

2. Near Chabahar-Gwadar

Ali Akbar Velayati, advisor to Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, has said that America is trying to build new military bases near Iran’s Chabahar port and Pakistan’s Gwadar port. There is Pasni area on the Makran coast of Pakistan, where America can build its airbase or navy base. However, America has not confirmed this yet.

The main reason for America’s interest is the geographical location of this region. It is located between the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman, which is important for the world’s energy supply and trade routes. Apart from this, America wants to stay here to counter China’s growing influence in Gwadar. Such a base can help America in monitoring the activities of Iran, Pakistan and China.

3. Military base in Gaza

America is planning a big military base near the Gaza border in Israel. International soldiers will be kept in this base, who will help in maintaining peace and ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. According to reports, this base will be built for about 10 thousand soldiers and its cost will be around 500 million dollars (about ₹ 4,000 crore).

The US Army is also considering building a temporary base near Gaza, where there would be accommodation for 10,000 soldiers. This base will last for 12 months and will be completely self-sufficient. That means there will be living, working and necessary facilities available in it. America also wants the cooperation of other countries for this plan.

This step is being considered a big change for Israel, because it usually does not allow foreign armies to enter the areas under its control. The base will also help America maintain military and political pressure on Iran.

4.Damascus Airbase

A week ago it was reported that America is going to deploy troops at the Damascus airbase in Syria. Its purpose is to monitor the Israel-Syria security agreement. The base will be used for surveillance, logistics, refueling and humanitarian operations. The report also said that Syria will have complete control over the airbase.

However, it is also being discussed that America will use Mezeh airbase located south-west of Damascus as its base. This location is about 5 km from the center of the capital Damascus. It is also being said that America can use the airport located at Blay. This airport is 45 km from the capital Damascus. it has only one runway

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, currently 40 to 50 thousand American soldiers are deployed at 19 places in the Middle East. These include both permanent and temporary locations. America has 8 military bases in the Middle East. These are located in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
