The documentary contained a portion related to the Capitol Hill riots of January 6, 2021. In this, Trump’s speech that day was wrongly edited. The US President had said something else but something else was shown in it, making it seem as if Trump himself had instigated the violence. There was an uproar regarding this.

In fact, Donald Trump had said in his speech in Washington DC on January 6, 2021 that we will go to the Capitol and support our senators peacefully. But in the edit, the ‘peaceful’ part was cut and two different parts were added. In the edited version of Panorama it was shown that we will march to the Capitol and we will fight with all our might.

Trump threatens BBC with lawsuit

Now there is an uproar regarding this. Trump has threatened the BBC with a billion dollar lawsuit. Trump’s lawyers have sent a letter to BBC. It has been said that either take back the documentary or be prepared for defamation. It also said that due to the documentary, President Trump’s image was tarnished and the elections were affected. However, BBC has not yet responded to this.

BBC has already admitted its mistake

At the same time, BBC has already accepted its mistake in this whole matter. BBC Director General Tim Davie and News CEO Deborah Turnes resigned.
