According to reports, the Sports Minister of Bangladesh has instructed BCB to request ICC to hold its T20 World Cup match in Sri Lanka instead of India. According to TOI report, Bangladesh Cricket Board had called an emergency meeting on January 3 to discuss its reaction to the steps taken by BCCI.

Bangladesh’s matches in the fixed schedule of T20 World Cup

T20 World Cup 2026 It is to be organized between 7 February and 8 March. During this period, according to the fixed schedule, Bangladesh has to play 4 matches in India, out of which 3 matches are to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata while one match will be played at Wankhede Ground in Mumbai.

Bangladesh’s first match is against West Indies on 7 February. After that, the next match will be played against Italy on 9th February while the third match will be played against England on 14th February. These three matches are going to be held at Eden Gardens. The fourth group match is to be played with Nepal at Wankhede on 17th February.

It is the result of political activity that Pakistan is playing its T20 World Cup 2026 matches in Sri Lanka. Now the same situation seems to be developing between India and Bangladesh also.
