Later, in search of a better life, his family moved to Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. Flores took admission in a private university and started studying criminal law.

Initially Flores was not much interested in politics. After obtaining his law degree, he worked as a defense lawyer in a private firm for almost a decade. Later she became the lawyer of former President Hugo Chavez, which gave her recognition. Later, she also became the Attorney General of Venezuela.

Was the President of the National Assembly

In the year 2000, i.e. a year after Hugo Chavez became President, she was elected a member of the National Assembly for the first time. She won the seat again in 2005 and became the Speaker of Parliament a year later. Flores was the first woman to become Speaker of the Venezuelan Parliament. She was the Speaker of the National Assembly from 2006 to 2011 and became the first woman to hold this post.

How did you meet Maduro?

During an early visit, Flores met a union leader from Caracas who was advising Chávez—his name was Nicolas Maduro. After this the closeness between the two increased. In 2012, Chávez appointed him Attorney General. She remained in this post until Chavez’s death in March 2013. Maduro, who was the Vice President at that time, won the election and assumed the presidency and the couple got married in July 2013.
