Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to death in Bangladesh.

The International Tribunal Court of Bangladesh has awarded death sentence to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, but the government has no house to hang the women. This has been revealed in a report of local media of Bangladesh.

According to the local Kaler Katha newspaper, since 1971, more than 100 women have been sentenced to death, but no one has been given this punishment. Currently 94 women prisoners are awaiting death sentence.

There is no hanging house for women in jail.

According to the newspaper, a separate jail has been built in Ghazipur for women. There is no hanging house here. In response to the question why the hanging house was not made in Ghazipur jail, former IG Jail Brigadier Zakir Hasan says that no woman was given death sentence before.

According to Zakir, we all accepted that women would be treated like this in future too, that is why the hanging house was not built in the women’s jail. In Bangladesh, most of the death sentences are converted into life imprisonment by the time they reach the President.

Death penalty in Bangladesh means hanging

In Bangladesh, death penalty can be given only through one system. That system is hanging. According to the Criminal Procedure Code 1898 in Bangladesh, a person sentenced to death is hanged. He is hanged by the neck until he dies.

Death penalty by shooting, electric shock or lethal injection is not given in Bangladesh as in other Muslim countries.

Preparations to bring Sheikh Hasina from India

After the decision of the International Tribunal Court, the first effort of the Bangladesh government is to bring Sheikh Hasina back to Dhaka. Sheikh Hasina is currently living in India’s capital Delhi. The government of Bangladesh has also written a letter to India.

The Bangladesh government will also get a warrant issued by Interpol in the coming days. The government of Bangladesh is preparing to raise this issue on international forums also.
