Bangladesh demands extradition from India

The International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh has sentenced Sheikh Hasina to death. After this decision, Bangladesh government has demanded extradition of Sheikh Hasina from India. The Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh has made this demand to the Indian Government on the basis of the court’s decision.

Bangladesh has told the Indian government that Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan have been convicted and sentenced in today’s decision of the tribunal. We demand the Government of India to send back these two persons. They should be handed over to the Bangladesh authorities. According to the surrender agreement existing between the two countries, India should follow it.

International Crimes Tribunal’s decision

Let us tell you that former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina was found guilty on two charges on Monday and was sentenced to death. The International Crimes Tribunal of Dhaka has found Hasina guilty of inciting and ordering the murder. The tribunal has called her the mastermind of the murders that took place during the 2024 student movement. The court also found the second accused, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, guilty of murdering 12 people and sentenced him to death.

Order to confiscate Haseena’s property

The court has ordered to confiscate all the properties of Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Kamal in Bangladesh. On the court’s decision, Hasina said, the decision against me is wrong, biased and politically motivated. This decision has been given by a tribunal which is run by an unelected government and which has no mandate from the people. People know that this whole matter is not an investigation into the real incidents but an attempt to target the Awami League.

Hasina said, the police system has become weak under the Yunus government. The justice system has become weak. Attacks on Awami League supporters and Hindu-Muslim minorities have increased. Women’s rights are being suppressed. The influence of fundamentalists is increasing. No one has elected Dr. Yunus. The next election of Bangladesh should be completely free and fair.
