42 Indians died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia on Monday. This accident happened while going from Mecca to Medina. When the bus collided with a diesel tank, the bus caught fire immediately after the collision. The dead included 20 women and 11 children. PM Modi has also expressed grief over this accident. 7 people of the same family living in Hyderabad have also died in the accident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the Saudi bus accident. In a social media post, Modi said that the Consulate in Riyadh is providing all possible help. He further wrote, ‘I am deeply saddened by the accident that happened to Indian citizens in Madina. My condolences are with the families who have lost their loved ones. Our officials are in touch with Saudi Arabian officials.

After the bus accident, a helpline has been issued by the Indian Embassy. “In view of the tragic bus accident involving Indian Umrah pilgrims near Madinah, Saudi Arabia, a 24×7 control room has been set up at the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, the contact details of the helpline are 8002440003,” the embassy said.

Mohammad Tahseen, a resident of Hyderabad, said that 7 people of his family died in this accident. Everyone had gone on a religious journey. While talking to the media, the young man appealed to the government for help. Along with this, he has demanded that the government should help in bringing the dead bodies of the family members to India.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has expressed grief over the accident in Saudi Arabia. He said- ,Deeply shocked by the accident that happened to Indian citizens in Madina. Our Embassy in Riyadh is providing full assistance to the Indian citizens and their families affected by the accident. ,
