Russia has exposed Pakistan. Recently it came to light that Pakistani intelligence agency ISI was smuggling military technology of the network. A Russian citizen has been arrested in St. Petersburg due to this smuggling. The target of this network was confidential documents related to military helicopters and air defense systems.

Russia has caught an espionage network run by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), which was trying to smuggle air defense system technology out of Russia. It is believed that this could be the first such mission of ISI in Russia.

Detective arrested

In a counter-intelligence operation, a Russian national was arrested in St. Petersburg while he was trying to smuggle documents used to develop military helicopter technology and air defense systems and other information related to the MI8AMTShV and MI8 AMTShV (VA) military transport helicopters, sources familiar with the matter said.

This espionage network came to light a few months ago, when it was revealed that ISI had allegedly tried to smuggle out technology related to Advanced Air Defense Systems developed by Russia.

Connection to Operation Sindoor

The Russian-made S400 missile defense system was used by the Indian Air Force in Operation Sindoor and proved to be a decisive role in the mission. India plans to buy 5 more S400 missile defense systems.

Where is technology used

The Mi8AMTShV is an advanced Russian military transport and attack helicopter, a modernized version of the Mi8AMTSh Terminator. The MI8 AMTShV (VA) is the Arctic variant, designed for operations in polar regions. It includes special heating system, better insulation and long range fuel tank.

Last week, the Russian Embassy in Islamabad warned an article by Pakistani newspaper Frontier Post, saying it promoted anti-Russian propaganda. Russia has been taunting Pakistan for some time now. Last week, the Russian Embassy in Islamabad had reprimanded Pakistani English newspaper The Frontier Post for spreading anti-Russian narrative.
