This country with a population of about 7.5 lakh is located between India and China, which makes it a buffer zone. In 2017, China tried to build a road in the Doklam area of Bhutan, which was stopped by the Indian Army. This incident showed how important Bhutan is in India’s security policy. 75% of Bhutan’s electricity comes from hydro power projects. Bhutan sells electricity to India. This generates 80% of Bhutan’s foreign earnings. Apart from this, Bhutan supports India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council.
