Annifer Lawrence is teaming up with Emma Stone and Cole Escola on the whimsical puppet, Miss Piggy. The film, which marks the first collaboration between these two longtime friends, is currently in early development at Disney. The feature film will be produced by Lawrence and Emma, with a screenplay written by Cole Escola.Lawrence announced the upcoming project on the Las Culturistas podcast hosted by Bowen Yang and Oscar winner Matt Rogers, 35.

“Miss Piggy is a feminist icon,” said Jennifer Lawrence, and recalled that the idea came to her mind during the lockdown thanks to a friend. “He said it would be a lot of fun if the shooting of Miss Piggy got cancelled,” he said, adding that this revelation in no way reveals the story of the film. Now, it wasn’t necessarily the story, but it drove the story.”
The ‘Die My Love’ actress was speaking on ‘The Tonight Show’ when she made this revelation about the film. Jennifer Lawrence further explained that there has been no solo project featuring Miss Piggy yet, which inspired her to become a producer for a project based on the character. “But Emma Stone is the head Muppet. And Emma Stone is a shark, I’m just an ideas guy. So, I went to her to ask, ‘What do we do?'”
What we know so far about ‘Miss Piggy’
The only information that has come out so far is that ‘Oh, Mary!’ Creator Cole Escola is writing ‘Miss Piggy’, and Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are producing the feature film. According to Variety, the film is being produced by Disney, owner of ‘The Muppets’ franchise.
Jennifer Lawrence first made the news public when she announced on the Las Culturistas podcast hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers: “I don’t know if I’ll be able to announce it, but I’m going to Emma Stone and I’m producing a ‘Miss Piggy’ movie and Cole is writing it.”
