After a good first week at the Indian box office, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ saw a decline in its collections at the ticket windows in the second week. This science-fiction action film was expected to make a splash at the box office, but it could not escape the grip of Ranveer Singh starrer Hindi film ‘Dhurandhar’.

After a stellar opening in several major international markets, Avatar: Fire and Ash has consistently performed well at the ticket windows. Although the film failed to match the record-breaking pace of Avatar (2009) or Avatar: The Way of Water, its current trend points towards a long and steady theatrical run.

Avatar 3 has grossed $217.70 million at the domestic (North America) box office, while its overseas gross stands at $542.70 million, bringing its total worldwide gross to $760.40 million by the end of its second weekend. China remains the biggest international market for the film, grossing nearly $100 million, followed by France with $54 million and Germany with $43 million.

In India too, this film of James Cameron has presented good figures. The film is inching closer to the $20 million mark, having already earned Rs 168 crore ($18.70 million) in 10 days. Despite facing tough competition from big Indian films, Avatar: Fire and Ash has become the highest-grossing Hollywood film of the year in the country so far.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is headed toward $1 billion as of this week. It is estimated to gross $400+ million domestically and $1.5+ billion worldwide. It also crossed the $6 billion mark for the franchise, making it the highest-grossing trilogy at the worldwide box office.
