Iran’s Foreign Minister said on Sunday that Tehran is no longer enriching uranium at any site in the country. Through this, the Foreign Minister has tried to indicate to the Western countries that Iran is still ready for possible talks regarding its nuclear program.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi gave the Iranian government’s most direct response yet to its nuclear programme, following the Israeli and US bombings of its enrichment sites in June.

Nuclear enrichment is not happening

Araghchi said that no nuclear enrichment is taking place secretly in Iran. All our facilities are under the security arrangements and monitoring of the International Atomic Energy Agency. He said that no enrichment is taking place at this time because our facilities have been attacked. Iran says that it is being threatened regarding reaching these targeted sites.

Iran’s message on nuclear program

Asked what Iran needs to do to continue talks with the US and other countries, Araghchi said Iran’s message on its nuclear program is clear. The Foreign Minister said, Iran’s nuclear enrichment, the right to peaceful use of nuclear technology, including enrichment, is undisputed.

We will not back down from our rights

The Foreign Minister said that Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear technology, including enrichment, cannot be denied. He said that this is our right and we are continuing it. We hope that the international community, including the United States, will accept our right and understand that it is Iran’s indisputable right, and we will never step back from our right.
