US President Donald Trump met New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani in the Oval Office on Friday. During this meeting, journalists asked many sharp questions to both of them. Instead of discussing their past debates, the two talked about shared goals for New York City.

During the press interaction, a journalist asked Mamdani whether he still considered Trump a fascist. As soon as Mamdani started answering this question – I have already said this – Trump interrupted him, patted his hand lightly and said with a light laugh, no problem, you can just say yes. This is easier said than done. I don’t mind.

What did Trump say on the question of Jihadi?

Another journalist questioned Trump on Republican leader Elise Stefanik’s claim that Mamdani is a jihadi. On this, Trump immediately stopped the conversation. The journalist asked whether he really believed that the person standing next to him was a Jihadi? Trump clearly said, no, I do not believe so. He further said, I have met a person who is very intelligent and logical.

Both talked about many issues

Where recently there was a meeting between Zohran Mamdani and President Trump. At the same time, before this both the leaders were seen making sharp remarks at each other before the election results. Mamdani had also targeted Trump in his victory speech.

Earlier, Donald Trump had called Mamdani 100% communist and a nut job, while Mamdani called himself Donald Trump’s biggest nightmare. But on Friday, both avoided personal allegations and focused on issues such as New York’s affordable living system, housing, grocery and rising utility costs. Both of them talked about this and called their conversation productive.

What about federal funds?

Trump sidestepped past controversies, including criticism of Mamdani’s deportation raids. He jokingly said that he has been called worse than a tyrant. When reporters asked why Mamdani flew to Washington instead of taking low-carbon transportation, Trump showed his support, saying, “I will defend you.”

Mamdani said that he had requested to organize this meeting to make New York more affordable. Trump acknowledged that he had previously warned that federal funds could be removed if they did not do a good job, but now he does not expect that to happen.

Trump was against Mamdani in the election

Trump played an important role in the mayor’s election. He supported Andrew Cuomo, questioned Mamdani’s citizenship and even said that he could be arrested if he did not work with immigration agents. Mamdani, who was born in Uganda and is now a US citizen, defeated Cuomo and claimed that he would stand against Donald Trump.
