Devdutt Padikkal: Devdutt Padikkal… Team India may not be saluting the work of this name but this player has not given up. Whenever Padikkal lands on the 22 yard strip, he is raining runs. Devdutt Padikkal, who came to play his sixth match in Vijay Hazare Trophy, once again attacked the bowlers, scoring 91 runs in 82 balls. This left-handed batsman missed out on scoring his fifth century in the current season of Vijay Hazare Trophy, although this player has registered a record in his name which is going to be very difficult to break.

What great miracle has Padikkal done?

Devdutt Padikkal Has achieved the feat of scoring more than 600 runs in three consecutive seasons of Vijay Hazare Trophy. He is the first Indian cricketer to do this feat. Padikkal had scored 609 runs in the 2019-20 season. He scored 737 runs in 2020-21 and has now scored 605 runs in the current season. Padikkal works like a run machine in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Just imagine, his not scoring a century also becomes news.

Padikkal is Vijay Hazare’s ‘god’

In his very first match of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Padikkal played an explosive inning of 147 runs against Jharkhand. He scored 124 runs against Kerala. Padikkal was out after scoring 22 runs against Tamil Nadu but against Puducherry he again scored a century and scored 113 runs. After this, Padikkal again scored 108 runs against Tripura. Now 91 runs have come from his bat against Rajasthan. 9 runs before his century, he was bowled by Manav Suthar.

Padikkal did not get a chance in Team India

Seeing the amazing form of Devdutt Padikkal, it seemed that he might get a chance in Team India for the ODI series against New Zealand. However this did not happen. Padikkal was ignored. The interesting thing is that Padikkal has performed best in List A. He has scored more than 2600 runs in this format at an average of around 84. In which 13 centuries and 13 half-centuries have come from his bat. However, despite this he did not get a chance to make his ODI debut.
