Pakistan Railways accused of charging excessive fare (Photo-PR)

A big feat of Pakistan Railways has come to light. Pakistan Railways officials have collected more fare from Indian Sikh pilgrims by increasing the distance of the train. The revelation of this matter of pilgrim Nanak has created a stir in the Parliament. The Railway Committee of Parliament has reprimanded the officials.

According to Dawn Urdu, Pakistan Railways cheated Indian pilgrims who had come to visit Nankana Sahib and Karachi. This matter came to light when the Railway Committee meeting of Parliament was held. The committee found that higher fares were charged in the trains run for pilgrims as compared to normal trains.

Railways ordered to apologize

In the National Assembly meeting, convenor Ramesh Kumar strongly reprimanded the CEO of Railways. Ramesh Kumar says that Railways collected Rs 10 lakh more from the pilgrims. Railways collected these higher fares by manipulating the bill.

The Parliamentary Committee says that the treatment given by the Railways to the pilgrims traveling to other areas of Pakistan through the Kartarpur Corridor. He doesn’t deserve forgiveness. This has tarnished the image of Pakistan.

The committee has asked the Railways to immediately apologize and return the money of the passengers who have traveled here. The committee has told Pakistan Railways that if this is not done then further strict action will be taken. The parliamentary committee has also warned of removing the CEO of Railways.

Railways has said to take action

Railways has said that it will take action in the whole matter. Railways says that this act has happened at a lower level. We will fix it. We will take action against whoever is the responsible officer. We will resolve this issue as per the committee’s advice.

The National Assembly Committee says that this issue will neither be allowed to be suppressed nor can anyone suppress it. If Railways does not take appropriate steps then a privilege motion will be brought in the House.
