Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday again thanked US President Donald Trump for the India-Pakistan ceasefire in May. New Delhi has consistently maintained that India and Pakistan had reached an agreement on May 10 to stop the conflict and no third party was involved in the process.

Addressing Azerbaijan’s Victory Day parade in Baku, Sharif said that it was because of the bold and decisive leadership of President Trump that a ceasefire was reached between Pakistan and India, peace was restored in South Asia, a major war was averted and millions of lives were saved.

Help in relieving tension between the two countries

Since May 10, when Trump announced on social media that India and Pakistan had agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire after lengthy talks brokered by Washington, Trump has repeatedly claimed that he helped ease tensions between the two countries.

Persistent denial of third party interference

However, India has consistently denied any third party interference. In his address, Sharif also mentioned Kashmir and said that Azerbaijan’s victory in Karabakh is a ray of hope for all countries fighting against oppression.

Trump saved the lives of millions of people

Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif described the US President as a man of peace. Not only this, Pakistani PM also thanked Trump for stopping the India-Pakistan war. Shahbaz Sharif even said that President Trump saved the lives of millions of people in South Asia but also in the Middle East.
