AUS vs ENG: Trouble increased for England on the fourth day of the Sydney Test when its captain Ben Stokes got injured. Ben Stokes got injured while bowling on the fourth day of play, due to which he could not even bowl his entire over. The England captain left the field without completing the over. At first glance the problem appeared to be related to groin or hamstring injury. But, then the England Cricket Board gave an update regarding his injury and told what happened?

What update did ECB give on Stokes’ injury?

According to the ECB, Stokes has pain in the right adductor muscle i.e. the inner part of the thigh. His injury is being investigated. England Cricket has said that they will soon give an update on Stokes’ injury.

Ben Stokes suffered this injury while bowling on the fourth day. Stokes, who came to bowl his second over on the fourth day of play, suffered the injury after the fourth ball, after which he suddenly had to leave the field.

England’s tension increased regarding batting

Stokes’ injury has increased England’s difficulties in batting in the second innings. Stokes’ injury is being investigated but will he be fit to bat? This is a big question because everything will depend on what is the nature of his batting?

Will Ben Stokes be able to bat?

In case of injury for which Ben Stokes is undergoing treatment, doctors generally advise complete rest and ask him to stay away from any kind of physical activity. Failure to do so creates a risk of further injury. Now in this situation, it seems difficult for Ben Stokes to bat in the Sydney Test. However, a final decision on whether he will bat or not can be taken only after the update on injury investigation.

If Ben Stokes’s injury is Grade 1, it will take him one to three weeks to recover. If it is grade 2, it may take 4 to 6 weeks or more. Whereas if there is a grade 3 injury, one may stay away from cricket for 4 to 6 months.
