The political relations between India and Bangladesh are deteriorating and this is now affecting the cricket relations between the two countries. In view of the killings of minority Hindus in Bangladesh and the anti-India atmosphere, BCCI has now taken some strict steps. After ordering the exclusion of Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman, who is going to participate for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026, the Indian Board has now banned the bilateral series as well. Team India was to tour Bangladesh for ODI and T20 series this year but now the board has stopped it for the time being.

In a report of Indian Express, quoting BCCI sources, it has been revealed that in view of the situation prevailing in Bangladesh, the Indian Board has temporarily postponed the tour to be held in August-September. The Board will now discuss this matter with the Government of India and will take further decisions based on their advice. Then he will inform this decision to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
