Delhi shooters shine in 68th National Shooting Championship, Aadya Katyal breaks record and wins gold medal

Strong performance by Delhi’s shooters.

The players of Delhi have performed amazingly in the 68th National Shooting Championship (Shotgun Events) held at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. Young shooter Adya Katyal especially caught everyone’s attention when she created a new national record by recording 42 hits in the final in the junior women’s trap individual event and won the gold medal. In the high-pressure final, Adya left Uttar Pradesh’s Sabira Haris (41 hits, silver) and Tamil Nadu’s Tanishka Senthilkumar (28 hits, bronze) far behind. This achievement is a big record for Indian shotgun shooting at the junior level.

Aadya’s charm continued in the team event also. Along with Bhavya Tripathi and Ananya Yaduvanshi, she won the gold medal in the junior women’s trap team event with a total score of 323. Other shooters from Delhi also showed the strength of the capital by winning medals in different categories. In which shotgun and pistol events are being organized in Delhi and rifle events are being organized in Bhopal.

  • Kirti Gupta: Silver Medal in Women’s Trap Individual.
  • Aadya Katyal, Kirti Gupta and Bhavya Tripathi: Silver medal in women’s trap team.
  • Mohammad Adil: Silver Medal in Master Men’s Trap.
  • Harsh Gupta: Gold in 25m Standard Pistol (579-18x score).
  • Arpit Goyal: Bronze medal in 25 meter rapid fire pistol (civilian), Silver medal in 25 meter sport pistol (civilian).
  • Arpit Goyal, Yashwant Kumar and Raghav Verma: Silver in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Team (Civilian).
  • Raghav Verma, Gajendra Kumar Kamboj and Arjun Verma: Gold in Junior Men’s Rapid Fire Pistol Team (Civilian).
  • Nikhil Kapoor: Silver in 50 meter free pistol (def).
  • Nitesh: Bronze in Junior Men’s Sport Pistol (Civilian).

Delhi also performed well in the rifle events being held in Bhopal.

  • Rajshree Anilkumar Sancheti and Parth Makhija: Bronze medal in 10 meter air rifle mixed team.
  • Man Mohan Singh (Delhi Police): Gold Medal in Master Men’s 10 Meter Rifle.
  • Vivek Anand, Daniyal Raza Zaidi and Hardik Bhardwaj: Bronze medal in 50 meter prone rifle men.
