Egypt has created a stir in the politics of the Middle East. Cairo is preparing a nuclear power plant with the cooperation of Russia. That too the most powerful nuclear plant in the Middle East. Satellite pictures related to this plant have also come to light. It is said to be operational in 2030.

According to American outlet Newsweek, Egypt has made a deal with Russia to build a nuclear power plant. Under this deal, a plant is being built in Al-Daba. Before this, the first reactor pressure vessel has been established recently. Vladimir Putin himself participated in its establishment through video conference.

How is Egypt’s nuclear power plant?

This Egyptian nuclear power plant is spread over about 12,000 feddans (about 12,400 acres) on the Mediterranean coast. Four designs have been made in this plant which is being built in collaboration with Russia. VVER-1200 Generation III+ pressurized water reactors will be installed in this plant.

The total cost of this plant will be 20 billion dollars. Russia has given a loan to Egypt for this. This nuclear power plant of Russia is of 4800 MW. No Muslim country in the Middle East has such a powerful nuclear power plant. Iran has one nuclear power plant, but it is of 1000 MW.

Why is this important for Egypt?

The nuclear issue is hot in the Middle East. America and Israel are not allowing any country to establish either nuclear weapons or nuclear power plants. Iran has been asked to demolish the old plant. Due to pressure, countries like Jordan and Kuwait had canceled their projects. The nuclear plant in Iraq has been destroyed.

In such a situation, Egypt is building its own plant, which is a big success for it. Not only this, Egypt is preparing its own nuclear plant with the help of Russia in the Middle East. Russia is considered close to Iran. Russia has been accused of training Iran to make nuclear weapons.

However, Egypt says that only electricity will be produced through nuclear power plants. Egypt has also contacted the International Nuclear Monitoring Institute. The nuclear monitoring organization will oversee the entire plant.
