Putin gives green signal to America’s new proposal, a big threat to Ukraine?

Russian President Putin on Friday welcomed the new Ukraine peace proposal presented by the US. Putin said that this modern and updated plan can become the cornerstone of ending the Ukraine war. However, he also said that there has been no concrete discussion with Russia on this plan yet and I can guess why this is so.

Let us tell you that the American administration has so far been unable to get the consent of the Ukrainian side. Ukraine is against it. Obviously, Ukraine and its European allies are still delusional and dreaming of strategically defeating Russia on the battlefield.

battle at turning point

Earlier on Friday, Ukrainian President Zelensky said in an address that his country is at a turning point in the four-year fight to defeat Russia, where Ukrainians must choose between standing up for their sovereign rights or losing US support as leaders negotiate a US peace proposal.

The US plan includes many of Putin’s old demands, as well as limited security guarantees to Ukraine. It calls for Ukraine to cede territory to Russia, which Zelensky has repeatedly rejected, which would reduce the size of its military and block its path to NATO membership.

negotiations with washington

Zelensky promised to hold talks with Washington in what he called one of the most difficult moments in history. Zelensky said he spoke for about an hour on Friday with US Vice President JD Vance and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll on the peace proposal.

US President Donald Trump said in a radio interview on Friday that he wanted a response from Zelensky on his 28-point plan by Thursday, but said the deadline could be extended to finalize the terms. In an interview on the Brian Kilmeade show on Fox News Radio, Trump said that I had many deadlines, but if things are going well, the deadlines are extended.

Offer for talks with America-Russia

Although Zelensky has offered to negotiate with the US and Russia, he has signaled that Ukraine will not get everything it wants and faces the possibility of losing US support if it takes any stance.

Zelensky said that at this time, there is pressure on Ukraine. Ukraine may now face a very difficult choice, either lose its dignity or risk losing an important partner. He said, we will work peacefully with America and all partners.

Europe in support of Ukraine

He urged Ukrainians to stop fighting each other. He said that the peace talks to be held next week will be very difficult. Europe says it will continue to support Ukraine. Lenski earlier spoke by phone to the leaders of Germany, France and the United Kingdom, who assured him of their continued support, while European officials rushed to respond to US proposals that apparently did not make sense to them.

assurance of full support

To avoid angering Trump, European and Ukrainian responses were carefully worded and clearly praised US peacekeeping efforts. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer assured Zelensky of their full support on the path to a lasting and just peace in Ukraine, Merz’s office said.

All four leaders welcomed American efforts to end the war. In particular, they welcomed Ukraine’s commitment to sovereignty and its readiness to provide concrete security guarantees to Ukraine, the statement added. He said the line of contact should be the starting point of any agreement, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces should be in a position to effectively defend Ukraine’s sovereignty. Starmer said Ukraine’s right to determine its own future under its sovereignty is a fundamental principle.

Existential threat to Europe

European countries see their future at stake in Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression and have emphasized consultation in peace efforts. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said in Brussels that Russia’s war against Ukraine is an existential threat to Europe. We all want this war to end. But how it ends matters.

Many proposals are quite worrying.

Trump said about Putin that he is not thinking about any more war. He is thinking about punishment. Say whatever you want. I mean, it was supposed to be a one-day war, which has now been four years. A European government official said the US plans had not been officially presented to Ukraine’s European supporters.

The official said many of the proposals are deeply worrying, adding that a bad deal for Ukraine would also threaten broader European security. The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the plan publicly.
