According to Bangladesh Meteorological Center, an earthquake was felt in Bangladesh on Friday (21 November). The intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 5.7 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was Narsingdi. Its effect was also seen in some cities of North Bengal. The depth of the earthquake below the ground was 10 kilometers.

According to Bangladesh geoscientist Humayun Kabir, the strongest tremor so far has been recorded around Dhaka. This earthquake was felt due to the collision of the Indo-Burma tectonic plate. Earlier in Bangladesh, an earthquake of 6.1 magnitude was felt in Chittagong in the year 1997.

More than 100 people admitted due to panic attack

Most of the people admitted to the hospital are residents of Narsingdi, where the earthquake was felt. Narsingdi Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Farida Gulshanara Kabir says that there is panic among the people. Everyone is being treated.

According to Gulshanara, some people have also suffered minor injuries. 3 people have died due to the earthquake, who have been sent to Mintford Hospital in Dhaka. At the same time, the government of Bangladesh has alerted the fire department in big cities including Dhaka.
