Kabul is turning towards India amid the trade crisis arising out of Pakistan-Afghanistan tension. Afghanistan’s Trade Minister Nooruddin Azizi is visiting India from November 19. The objective of this visit is to increase trade cooperation with India, air cargo and use of Chabahar Port. This visit will strengthen India as a reliable trading partner for Afghanistan.

After the recent Pakistani attack on the Turkham border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, trade has completely stopped. Due to this, Kabul is now increasingly turning towards India to increase trade.

In this series, Afghanistan’s Trade Minister Nooruddin Azizi is coming on a 5-day visit to India from November 19. The main objective of the tour is to further strengthen trade cooperation with India.

Afghan airline had reduced the fare

A few days ago, Afghan airline Ariana Airlines had reduced the fare on the Kabul-Delhi cargo route, so that it would be easier for traders to send goods to India. At the same time, there has been a huge increase in Afghanistan-Iran trade in recent months, in which Chabahar Port is playing an important role.

Currently, most of the trade between India and Afghanistan happens through air cargo and Chabahar Port. After the closure of Turkham border, both these routes have become even more important.

During Azizi’s visit, both the countries will talk about increasing trade, air cargo facilities, investment and better use of the Chabahar route. Amidst the Pakistan-Afghan tension, this visit is believed to bring India closer to Kabul as a reliable trading partner.

Afghan increasing friendship with India

No country in the world has given formal recognition to the Taliban regime. At the same time, relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have been going very bad for the last several months. Recently it was also announced that Afghanistan will not do any kind of trade with Pakistan. This is the reason why the Taliban government is also considering Pakistan as its enemy and making friendship with India.

Will try to improve trade

Even today India buys dry fruits, saffron and carpets from Afghanistan. In return, it supplies medicines, grains and tea to Afghanistan. But, there are still many challenges including banking. Now an attempt will be made to fix it. In this meeting, there will be discussion on creating a secure payment system so that trade can be done in a better way. This is the reason why everyone’s eyes are fixed on this tour.
