Anil Kapoor’s emotional message for Tom Cruise, congratulates Mission: Impossible co-star on receiving Academy Honorary Award

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor penned an emotional note for his Mission: Impossible co-star Tom Cruise, congratulating him on receiving an honorary ‘Academy Award’ and praising his passion, discipline and generosity. Cruise, one of the world’s biggest superstars, was presented the award on November 16. Cruise is known for his big films like the Mission: Impossible series and the Top Gun franchise.

On Tuesday, Anil posted a long note on his social media account, which read, “Dear friend, congratulations on this incredible honour. Your passion, discipline and generosity are unmatched. The world has always admired you, and now they have given you the respect you deserve.” He further wrote, “Your achievement is a testament to all the artists around the world who put their heart and soul into cinema. Thank you for your talent and your friendship, which I will always cherish… @TomCruise.”

Kapoor and Cruise worked together in the 2011 film Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. The film, directed by Brad Bird, was written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. It was the fourth film in the Mission: Impossible film series and also stars Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg.

Tom, who has been one of Hollywood’s most influential actors for more than 40 years, delved into the power of cinema during his acceptance speech. According to People, he said, “Cinema takes me around the world. It helps me appreciate and respect differences. It shows me our shared humanity… No matter where we come from, in that theater, we laugh together, feel together, hope together.”

He also recalled the childhood moment that sparked his lifelong passion for films: “I was just a little kid in a dark theater, and I remember that beam of light tearing across the room and bursting onto the screen. Suddenly, the world was so much bigger than the one I knew.”

In a career spanning four decades, Tom has played lead roles in some of Hollywood’s most memorable films, including the Mission: Impossible franchise, Top Gun: Maverick, Knight and Day, The Mummy, and more, cementing his place among the industry’s most enduring global stars.
