Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is a dangerous terrorist organization of Pakistan. It was banned by Pakistan in 2002, but it is still operating under different names like Afzal Guru Squad, Al-Murabitoon and Tehreek‑e‑Furq. It is headquartered in Bahawalpur city of Punjab and operates its network across Pakistan. The organization runs under the leadership of fundamentalist religious leaders.

Jaish has a lot of land in Bahawalpur. Its main camp is spread over 18 acres. The organization has a total of about 30 properties. In 2009, Jaish built a large, fortress-like compound in Bahawalpur, complete with a swimming pool and horse stables. It is used for training terrorists.

Funding through 3 trusts

Jaish is funded through three trusts of Pakistan, Al Akhtar, Al Rahmat and Al Azmat. Al Akhtar has been declared a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the US and the United Nations. These trusts collect donations, sometimes in the name of religion or charity. Al Rahmat Trust also collects items like cash and animal skins, which are used to support jihad or the families of slain terrorists.

Jaish raises money through hawala and money laundering. Withdraws money from bank accounts and invests it in legitimate businesses, such as commodity trading, real estate and manufacturing. Donations are also taken through magazines and pamphlets.

Invested for training of 300 terrorists

In 2019, Jaish had invested approximately 10,000 US dollars i.e. 8.77 lakhs, so that 300 terrorists could be trained. In this way, Jaish-e-Mohammed continues to carry out terrorist activities with its network, assets and funding.
