Chinese fighter jets patrolled in bomber formation over the South China Sea for the first time. This is being seen as a warning to the Philippines, Japan and America. Recently, the Philippines did joint patrolling with the navies of Japan and America. The Southern Theater Command of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) said that the Philippines is conducting joint patrolling with foreign countries, in response to which our bomber planes showed collective strength.

China claims most of the South China Sea. It has maritime disputes with Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan. This sector is important for international trade. Senior Colonel Tian Junli of PLA’s Southern Theater Command warned the Philippines. He said that the Philippines should immediately stop provocative activities.

Why is China doing this?

According to military experts, this patrolling of bomber planes is a way of showing the strength and capability of PLA. Surface ships can also be effectively targeted by bomber aircraft. This is a sign of China’s armed strength and regional dominance. Tension between China and the Philippines has increased in recent months. Naval and coast guard ships of both the countries have repeatedly clashed to show control over their respective claimed areas.

Conflict between China and Japan increased

Meanwhile, tension has also increased between China and Japan. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said that if China attacks Taiwan, Japan may consider it a threat to its existence. We can exercise the right of collective self-defense. According to Tokyo reports, Takaichi’s popularity has increased to 69.9%. 60.4% people are in favor of increasing Japan’s defense spending, while 48.8% people support the right of collective self-defense.

China warned that any interference by Japan would be given a strong response. PLA’s official newspaper PLA Daily wrote that Japan’s wrong policy can turn the entire country into a battlefield. China issued strict travel advisory for Japan on Friday. China advised its citizens to be cautious about traveling to Japan.
