Today more than 25 million children are out of schools in Pakistan. Of these, 2 crore children never went to school. This information has come out in the new report of Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE). It has been said in the report that 1,084 transgender children are not admitted in any school or college. This clearly shows the lack of access to education for all genders.

If seen state wise, Punjab has the highest number of children out of school. Their number is about 96 lakh, of which 47 lakh are boys and 48 lakh are girls. After this is Sindh, where 78 lakh children are not going to school, this includes 37 lakh boys and 40 lakh girls. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 49 lakh children are out of school, of which 20 lakh are boys and 29 lakh are girls. In Balochistan, 29 lakh children are not in school, this includes 14 lakh boys and 15 lakh girls.

Every year 20 thousand children are deprived of school

Even in the capital Islamabad, 89,000 children between 6 and 16 years are not in school, which includes 47,849 boys and 41,275 girls. The report warns that the number of children not going to school is increasing by about 20,000 every year.

Education experts say that it is necessary to take immediate concrete steps to send children to school. It is necessary to improve government policies, increase enrollment in schools and strengthen the education system. It is very important for all children to get the opportunity for formal education.

16 lakh children are victims of child labor in Sindh

Pakistan 16 lakh children are working as child labor in Sindh province. According to a survey, 8 lakh children work in dangerous conditions. Only 40% of working children are able to go to school. 10.3% of Sindh’s children aged between 5 to 17 years, i.e. about 16 lakhs, are doing some kind of work.

Only 40.6% of the working children go to school, while 70.5% of the children who do not work go to school. That means child labor is also affecting education.
