Sheikh Hasina is continuously targeting Mohammad Yunus from Delhi. Besides, he has made big allegations against America and Pakistan for the coup in the country.

Awami League increased the difficulty

The attitude of Sheikh Hasina’s supporters is becoming harsher day by day. Actually, the party has been banned in the country and many cases are registered against Sheikh Hasina. Due to this, supporters are raising their voice against these cases. Now Jamaat-e-Islami along with its supporters has also come out against Yunus.

Awami League is protesting in the country. This demonstration became more violent on Friday. Activists blocked highways in 5 districts including the capital Dhaka. Their demand is that the government should withdraw the cases registered against Sheikh Hasina. Also, the party demands that the election dates should be announced in the month of February. Police also arrived to stop the demonstrations by the supporters. Due to this, clashes took place between the workers and the police.

Jamaat also gave ultimatum

Two bomb blasts took place near the International Airport in Dhaka early Friday. In view of the tension due to the demonstration, more than 400 paramilitary personnel along with police have been deployed in the capital Dhaka. Along with his supporters, now the fundamentalist Jamaat-e-Islami is also seen speaking against Yunus.

After Friday prayers, Yunus government had to face the anger of the people. After the Friday prayers in the Big Mosque of Dhaka, Jamaat’s Naib-e-Amir Syed Abdullah gave an ultimatum to the Yunus government. Abdullah said that elections and referendum should not be held simultaneously in February. He has given an ultimatum to the Yunus government that a referendum should be held next month.

While Yunus’s interim government is facing difficulties, Sheikh Hasina’s supporters are increasing their Jamaat. At the same time, now PM Khaleda Zia’s party BNP has also jumped into it. The party on Friday attacked the Yunus government regarding women’s safety. The party held a big rally in Dhaka alleging lapses in women’s safety.

Will the ban be lifted from Awami League?

Awami League supporters are continuously putting pressure on the Yunus government. Despite this, Mohammad Yunus has made it clear that he will not lift the ban from the party at present. Yunus put this forward during his meeting with British Minister Jenny Chapman who was visiting Bangladesh.

The ban on Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League is in effect from May 2025. The parties are continuously struggling to remove it. An application has been filed by the party at the Hague headquarters of the International Court of Justice.
