Actress Ruby Rose has vented out her anger at Sidney Sweeney over the low grossing of her new film Christie. This film is based on the life of famous boxer Christy Martin.
This sports film, released on November 7, despite being released in more than 2,000 theaters, could earn only $1.3 million (about Rs 10 crore) in the first weekend. According to USA Today, this film is at number 12 in the list of films with the worst opening.
Ruby Rose abuses Sidney Sweeney
On November 10, Orange Is the New Black fame Ruby Rose called Sidney Sweeney an idiot in a post on the social media app Threads. He also said that Sweeney ruined the project. Rose told that earlier he himself was going to get a chance to work in this film.
Rose claimed that the original story of the film was brilliant and that she was going to get the role of Cherry. Most of us, he wrote, were actually gay. I keep losing roles. After the film flopped, Rose also took aim at Sidney Sweeney’s cleanliness.
He wrote, saying that Sidney Sweeney made this film for the people. No one wants to see someone who hates them, you’re an idiot and you ruined the movie. Christie deserved better than this.
According to a report in The Guardian, Sydney Sweeney is a supporter of the Republican Party, due to which Rose attacked her.

What did Sidney Sweeney say?
Sydney Sweeney recently said on Instagram that she is very proud of this film. She said that playing the role of a strong and courageous person like Christy Martin is one of the biggest honors for her. According to him, this film is a story of survival, courage and hope.

Christy Martin’s reaction to her biopic
In September, boxer Christy Martin praised Sidney Sweeney for portraying his life in the film. At the Toronto Film Festival, he had said that he is very shy and quiet in real life, whereas in boxing his intention was to knock out everyone.
“There are these two versions of my personality, and I think that’s why Sidney Sweeney has done such a great job because she’s become a completely different person that none of you expected,” she said.
