Why is Indonesia making weapon Trishul?

Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim country, is busy strengthening its defense system. In this context, Indonesia has decided to start a scheme called Trishul. Indonesia will study how to prevent any attack through this plan. That means Indonesia is preparing a defense shield named Trishul.

An outlet named National Interest has done a detailed report regarding this. It has been said in this report that Indonesia is preparing to spend about 125 billion dollars on its Trishul defense armour. A plan has also been prepared for this.

What is Trishul Raksha Kavach?

The Indonesian government is strengthening the defense system afresh. The government is also preparing to shift the current capital Jakarta to Nusantara. In view of this, the government has started the Nusantara Trishul Scheme. Through this plan, the new capital of Indonesia will be protected from external attacks.

Under the Trishul plan, the Indonesian government will afresh purchase key equipment such as submarines, frigates, missile-armed fast attack ships and long-range missiles. The government has also made a provision to recruit new soldiers in this scheme.

According to an IISS report, under the Trishul scheme, Indonesia has purchased 2 second-hand Dassault Mirage 2000-D/ED fighter aircraft and 24 Boeing F-15EX fighter aircraft. Soon it will be deployed in Indonesia.

Similarly, Indonesia also plans to purchase 24 Lockheed Martin S-70M Black Hawk helicopters, two Airbus A400M Atlas airlifters and 12 Turkish Aerospace Industries Anka medium-altitude long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Indonesia is buying most of its weapons from either America or China. It is buying fighter jets from America and cheap and light weapons from China.

Why is Indonesia buying weapons?

Barring minor skirmishes with Malaysia and Australia, Muslim-majority Indonesia currently has no enemy country. In such a situation, the question arises why Indonesia is showing so much speed in purchasing new weapons.

In fact, the increasing tension in Central Asia has scared Indonesia. Indonesia has more than 17000 islands. It is not easy to protect it. This is the reason why Indonesia has started setting up the defense system afresh.
