Sitarist-composer Anushka Shankar is among the Indian artists nominated for the Grammy Awards 2026. She has been nominated for Chapter III: We Return to Light, and Priyanka Chopra is as proud of it as every Indian!

The desi girl recently reacted to the nomination on social media and congratulated Anushka. Responding to her Instagram post, Priyanka wrote, “Just queen energy. Congratulations.” The two recently met at Priyanka’s grand Diwali celebration in the US and they share a warm bond.

“Today is a day of contrasts – a terrible migraine and news of my 12th and 13th GRAMMY nominations in the same afternoon,” the musician wrote on Instagram.He added, “From my horizontal position in this dark room, I’m extremely grateful to see Chapter III: We Return to Light nominated for Best Global Album and ‘Daybreak’ nominated for Best Global Musical Performance. To be nominated alongside the amazing @alamsarode and @sarathykorwar, with whom I created this music, makes it even sweeter. For now, to sleep. Tomorrow, we’ll celebrate!”
Indians dominate the Grammy nominations
Along with Shankar’s album, composer Siddhant Bhatia’s Sounds of Kumbha has also been nominated. It is an album inspired by the spiritual and musical atmosphere of the Kumbh Mela.

Another Indian making headlines is Madurai-born and New York-based jazz pianist Charu Suri, who has been nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for Shayan (Sleep). Known for blending jazz with Indian ragas, his album explores the tranquil interlude between awakening and relaxation.
