In the days before the attack, the US military quietly increased its presence along the Venezuelan coast, while intelligence agencies closely monitored Nicolás Maduro’s daily activities. According to an Associated Press report, authorities tracked where Maduro lived at different times, what his habits were, and even collected details such as his pets and clothing.

According to Trump, an exact replica of Maduro’s residence was prepared for the exercise. He said, they had literally built a house that was exactly like the house they had moved into—everything was the same, the same steel everywhere.

Trump also said that during the operation by US forces to drive out Maduro and his wife, almost all the electricity in a Venezuelan city was shut off.

After this, Trump gave information about the mission in a news brief at his Florida residence. He said some American personnel were injured, but he believed no one was killed. However, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said that civilians and military personnel had died during the attack.

Mayor Mamdani condemned

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the operation, calling it an act of war. In his statement, he said, unilaterally attacking a sovereign country is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law.
