10 killed in Pakistani attack, why are Afghanistan and Pakistan on the verge of war again?

The Taliban government of Afghanistan has alleged that Pakistan carried out attacks on 3 eastern provinces (Khost, Kunar and Paktika), in which 9 children and a woman were killed. After this incident, tension between the two countries is increasing. Taliban has said that a befitting reply will be given to these attacks.

Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on X that Pakistan dropped a bomb on a civilian’s house in Khost province, killing a child and a woman. He said that attacks also took place in Kunar and Paktika, in which 4 people were injured. Pakistan’s army and government have not responded to these allegations.

What is the reason for increasing tension again?

Actually, on Monday there was a major attack in Peshawar city of Pakistan. There two suicide bombers and a gunman attacked the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary. In this attack, 3 officers were killed and 12 were injured. No group took responsibility for this attack, but suspicion has fallen on Pakistani Taliban (TTP).

TTP is a separate organization from the Afghan Taliban, but relations between the two are considered close. Pakistan says that many TTP leaders are hiding in Afghanistan. Pakistan President Asif Zardari blamed TTP for this attack.

Taliban accused of helping TTP

Pakistan repeatedly accuses Afghanistan of allowing TTP to carry out attacks from its soil. However, Afghanistan has been denying these allegations. Relations between the two countries have deteriorated further in recent months. On October 9, Pakistan carried out drone attacks on Afghanistan. After this, clashes took place between the two countries, in which many soldiers, civilians and fighters were killed.

Later, with the mediation of Turkey and Qatar, a ceasefire was reached on 19 October. After this, two rounds of talks were held in Istanbul, but no solution was found because Pakistan wanted Afghanistan to give a written guarantee that TTP would not attack from its soil. Afghanistan says that it does not allow its land to be used for attacks against any country.
